I purchased this car in Sept. 2000 from the previous owner, who lives in Salem Oregon. As far as I can tell, I am the third owner.

There have been some modifications to the car. First and foremost, the B18 engine has been swapped out for a B20B (non fuel injected) engine. The upholstery has been re-done, and re-done badly. Golden plush carpeting. Bleah. But I've purchased vintage lower door panels, kicker panels, and am having the upper panels and rear upholstery re-done to original specs.

Instrumentation is pretty good, with the usual problems (wavering speedo, tach sporadic, clock nonfunctional). But those will be repaired and re-installed soon.

The worst problem is rust (as if you didn't know). I'm having replacement jack struts, cross members and floor pans welded in by a vintage auto restorer, and then repainted.

As a concession to safety, since this car is and will be my daily driver, I've purchased Recaro seats to replace the OEM seats when I'm just driving on a regular basis. Otherwise I'll hold onto the OEM seats and re-install them for meets and gatherings.

When you bring additional fields into a conversion, Quickbase often finds inconsistencies. For example, say you're converting your Companies column into its own table. One company, Acme Corporation, has offices in New York, Dallas and Portland. So, when you add the City column to the conversion, Quickbase finds three different locations for Acme. A single value in the column you're converting can only match one value in any additional field. Quickbase needs you to clean up the extra cities before it can create your new table. To do so, you have one of two choices:

  • If you want to create three separate Acme records (Acme-New York, Acme-Dallas and Acme-Portland) click the Conform link at the top of the column.
  • If the dissimilar entries are mistakes (say Acme only has one office in New York and the other locations are data-entry errors) go back into your table and correct the inconsistencies—in this case, changing all locations to New York. Then try the conversion again.
